Hi, my name is Dong Han. The word "Dong" means winter season in Chinese. Winter is a blessed season that we would like to take a good rest after busy labor for harvest in Fall. As we know, in many cultures, there are important festivals celebrated in winter. Moreover, winter has meaning of persistence, durability, fearlessness, and purity. There is a special tree in Asia only flowering in deep cold winter. We name it "Mei". When other plants have decayed, this tree is admired for its beautiful flowers and pleasant scent on branches without leaves. In my culture, we appreciate a person using the name of the tree to praise his/her tenacity.
